            เกมส์ Age of Empires เป็นเกมส์เก่าอีกเกมส์ที่พัฒนาในยุคแรกๆ โดยบริษัท Ensemble Studios ผลิตโดยบริษัท Microsoft Studios เกมส์นี้ออกมาในปี 1997 เป็นเกมส์ RTS อีกเกมส์ที่คอเกมส์เก่าๆรู้จักกันดี เนื้อเรื่องหลักๆของเกมส์จะเกิดขึ้นในแถบ Europe, Africa และ Asia ระบบการเล่นในเกมส์จะเป็นการสามารถพัฒนาอารยธรรมของเราตั้งแต่ยุคหิน(Stone Age)ไปจนถึงยุคเหล็ก(Iron Age) ซึ่งสิ่งก่อสร้างและอาวุธยุทโธปกรณ์ก็จะพัฒนาตามไปด้วย ส่วนภาคเสริมของเกมส์จะเป็นเนื้อเรื่องของจักรวรรดิโรมัน การขยายตัวของอาณาจักรในสมัยนั้น เกมส์นี้ทำยอดขายทั่วโลกได้กว่า 20 ล้านชุด เป็นเกมส์เก่า Classic อีกเกมส์ที่น่าสนใจและตอนนี้มีออกมาถึงภาค 3 แล้ว ใครคิดถึงเกมส์เก่านี้ลองดาวโหลดไปเล่นดูครับ อีกเกมส์ที่พัฒนาโดย  Microsoft Studios นั้นคือ Age of Mythology and The Titans Expansion ซึ่งเป็นแนววางแผนแนวเทพเจ้ากรีก, อียิปต์ และ นอร์ช

 Age of Empires requires the player to develop a civilization from a handful of hunter-gatherers to a vast empire of the Iron Age. To assure victory, the player must gather resources to pay for new units, buildings and technologies. The resources must be preserved, as no new resources become available in the course of the game, for example, trees that are cut will not grow back.

Twelve civilizations are available. Each with the individual settings of attributes, including a variable number of available technologies and units. Each civilization has unique technologies for them, so that no civilization possesses all possible technologies within the game
An important component of the game is to progress through four centuries. These are the Stone Age (Mesolithic / Nomad / Paleolithic), the Tool Age (Neolithic / Chalcolithic), the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. Advancement between ages is researched at the center of the country, and every advance brings the reader new technologies, weapons and units.
